Experience
Yelena Vodjevic is a member of the Paris Bar. After some fifteen years practising in leading Anglo-Saxon law firms in Paris and New York — including Orrick and Dechert — she joined MUFG Bank, Paris Branch in 2017 as Head of Legal and member of the Executive Committee, a position she held for eight years. She created and led the branch's legal department, prepared its first CSRD report and supported the Risk and Credit teams on climate-related matters. She subsequently founded Jurisgaïa, a law firm dedicated to transition law and non-financial regulatory compliance for banking and financial institutions and corporates.
Yelena has served as a lecturer at the University of Paris I — Panthéon-Sorbonne in company law, under Professors Paul Le Cannu and Alain Couret, and at the University of Paris X — Nanterre in negotiable instruments law, under Professor Philippe Dubois. Profile
Yelena Vodjevic has developed a dual expertise in banking and financial law on the one hand, and in sustainability law and regulation on the other.
She advises banking and financial institutions and corporates on acquisition finance, structured finance and sustainable finance, as well as on regulatory matters within the remit of the ACPR and AMF (licensing, prudential compliance and supervisory relations). She also intervenes upstream of financing transactions to embed sustainability criteria in transaction documentation.
She further supports clients in their compliance with non-financial regulation and in managing transition-related risks: sustainability report structuring (CSRD), greenwashing prevention, supplier codes of conduct, and transition risk mapping. She also assists companies in formalising their transition plans, as required by lenders under their responsible lending policies, and in integrating non-financial criteria into their responses to public procurement tenders.
Holder of a Master's degree in Sustainable Development and Organisations (PSL Dauphine) and a sustainability auditor certificate (PSL Dauphine & Sup'Expertise), Yelena Vodjevic was recognised in the GC Powerlist France 2024 by The Legal 500.
She is fluent in French, English and Serbian, and has in-depth knowledge of the legal and institutional landscape of the Western Balkans. Education
